The Story ? Our Story

 

As we move through the seasons of our life journey we learn that integration plays a key part in our learning and transformation as human beings.? The stages represented in this Refugee Series are a powerful metaphor of healing images that awaken us to our own tragedies and our personal struggle for renewal.? Ultimately, there is no order to these experiences, however, there is a cyclic nature that is represented here which I hope offers an opportunity for our souls to reconnect in wisdom and to become inspired to recreate this very complex world that we share.

 

 

My story begins when I found Peace.

 

 

Oh, so that?s why we exist.

That?s why we go to the next step.

That?s why life and death.

That?s why good and bad.

That?s why black is sad and Alienation is our breath.

Oh, that?s why we follow the Promise inside.

That?s why you leave it all behind.

The Massacre as prayer to kill.? Widows in white and Fog.

And Courage is the only thought.

The truth maps the road to Salvation.

Adaptation is the will of The Immigrant.

Peace when the journey?s complete, Refuge again human shall seek.

A seed no man will fully reap.

The hand of wisdom to remind.? In Refuge we are all combined.

Determined, the Love we find, day or night.

We?re all Refugees, if you may or if you might.

 

 

After completing the first edition of my work at the end of 2003, I began to recreate these story images and paintings for the 2nd Edition. Refugee I and Refugee II are progressive in nature and reflected my growing conviction. These 10 images have now been painted on larger Canvas and are bolder and brighter. My work is a permanent mark of my Truth and the HK ART experience is my offering and my invitation to you to join me on this journey toward Peace.? This Is My Dream.

"360, Birth & Rebirth" 2015-2016

This series reflects a wide range of emotions and an understanding of the full
circle that WE sometimes reach at one point or another in our lives on earth
and beyond. After taking a survey, asking people "What Does 360 Mean To You?"

 

I chose ten paintings from the phenomenal responses such as: THE POINT OF FULL
RETURN, THE POINT OF NO RETURN, EARTH, HISTORY, GOD, ART, LIFE & DEATH,
KARMA, FORGIVENESS, PRAYING, A CURE, CHANGE, NATURE, FREEDOM, HUMOR,
COMPASS, WAR, RECYCLING, INFINITY, UNION, FOSSIL, BIRTH & REBIRTH.

 

To me 360 represents Earth as a Fossil. The message here is that if we don't take care
of earth and ourselves we could become the fossil. Birth & Rebirth Is a four piece painting
that shows a fossil of a tree's anatomy.

In this series I found myself drawn to the kingdom of fungi and how beautiful these organisms can be. They are essential to life and Earth's ecological system. Fungi are helping to cycle nature back to nature.

 

Life is unpredictable, and you have to deal with the good, the bad and the ugly to survive. You have to find the beauty within the destruction. This wild, provocative and addictive nature leaves no stone unturned and has a mind of its own. One must become the horseman to slay the beast.

Life begins with FUN so let the FUNgi begin.
